Helping kids stay in school and prepare for life.

Volunteer

Why become a volunteer? Because our children need YOU!

Nearly 49,000 volunteers donated 2.8 million hours to Communities In Schools last year. By volunteering:
YOU are part of the solution to this epidemic.
YOU are a role model and mentor.
YOU are creating a better community.
YOU are building a better school system.
YOU are changing the future for the children in your neighborhood.

When you volunteer with Communities In Schools, you can put your experience, energy and enthusiasm to work to help young people succeed in school. YOU just may make the critical difference in a young person's life!

Be a tutor: Work one-on-one with a student or group in the academic area you choose.
Be a breakfast or lunch buddy: Give an elementary student your attention over a meal.
Be a group volunteer: Work with students in the classroom or as a mentor.
Be a career mentor: Help a high school student planning for college or a vocation.
Be an activity volunteer: Help on a camping trip, weekend outing or special event.
Be a connector: Use your own connections to help bring needed resources from community organizations, agencies, businesses and health care providers into your schools.
Be creative: Find your own way to give back—run a school supplies drive, host a career day, offer a healthy meal cooking lesson, etc. Unique opportunities exist everyday to make a difference!
